Michigan Democrats Win Big

Democratic mayors were elected and reelected throughout Michigan. Among them:

* Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was reelected to a 2nd term in Detroit
* State Senator Virg Bernero was elected in Lansing.
* Mayor Brenda Lawrence was reelected to a 2nd term in Southfield.
* State Representative Clarence Phillips was elected in Pontiac.
* Mayor Martin Griffin was reelected to a 6th term in Jackson.
* Mayor Pro-Tem Marilyn Stephan was elected in Berkley.
* Mayor Vicki Barnett was reelected to a 2nd term in Farmington Hills.
* Mayor Jim Ellison was reelected to a 2nd term in Royal Oak.

Democrats were elected to serve on city councils and commission across Michigan. Among them:

* Gary Lelito was elected to the Royal Oak City Commission.
* Philip O'Dwyer was elected to the Berkley City Council.
* James Jendrisiak and Rosalyn Bliss were reelected and elected, respectively, to the Grand Rapids City Commission.
* Andrew Mutch was elected to the Novi City Council.
* Spencer Bertram was elected to the Wyoming City Council.
* Deni Scrudato was elected to the Traverse City Commission.
* Ryan Hersha, Steve Franklin, Nancy Macfarlane, Deb Owens and Tony Walker were elected to the Battle Creek City Commission.
