H.R.4694
Let the People Decide Clean Campaign Act

This is a sad day indeed. I disagree with the Democrats.

H.R.4694 is attempting to set limits on campaign funds. But this bill is effectively cutting out any non-Democrat, non-Republican. The bill sets limits on how to achieve the public funding. According to Ballot Access News,

"Nominees of parties that had averaged 25% of the vote for US House in that district (over the last two elections) would get full public funding. Also, independent candidates who had averaged 25% would also get full public funding. All others would be required to submit petitions signed by 10% of the last vote cast, for partial funding; and 20% petitions for full funding. Candidates not qualifying for partial funding would be barred from spending any privately raised money."

So, if you cannot get 10% or 20% of the people in a voting district to sign your petition, than you will not get funding. And you would also be barred from spending any other funds. Thus, you could not have any campaign and would have to hope to God that people vote will for you. I think that the Democrats are noble in that they want to try and clean up the House of Reps and campaigns, but this is TOTALLY the WRONG WAY.

The United States needs to allow for other parties to take a stand in politics. The only way to represent everyone, no matter how small, is to include all who want to run. If the third-party can raise the money, than they should be able to run. The House of Reps needs to change its ways, but this is not the right direction for it to go.
