Now the Democrats have control of Congress, I hope that politics will get a little more bearible. But what is to come is somewhat a mystry. No one really knows how this new Congress will work better then the Republicans over the past decade (or so). But I have to say congrations to Speaker Pelosi, on being elected the new Speaker of the House by a 233-202 vote. But with Congress so closly split between Democrats and Republicans, measures that the Democrats want to take will have to have at least some, if not a lot, of Republican support.
The first 100 hours will be, for lack of a better term, intreasting. President Bush warned against passing bills as purly "political statements", but many items on the Democrats agenda are important and needed items to be dissucssed. I just hope that Republicans are willing to talk on points that the Democats want, and I also hope that Democrats can comprimise and achieve bi-partisan support for different bills and "statements" that they want to make.
