President Bush And A "Different" McCain

President Bush is not very popular among the American people. After hitting only a dismal 23% approval rating in a L.A. Times/Bloomberg poll from the 19-23 of last month, a CNN/Opinion Research poll picking up on that conducted from the 26-29 put the President at a whole 30%. Neither of these numbers are something which a President could be elected by and as such, one must look to the support of the President's party for the next president, John McCain. When Bush endorsed McCain for president back in March he stated that "They're not going to be voting for me. I've had my time in the Oval Office."

Yes Mr. President you have done your time and we do not want a clone of you in office. According to the Congressional Quarterly Voting Study of the 110th Congress McCain reached a level of 95% in support of Bush’s policies in 2007, growing from his average of 89% since Bush had taken office. Clearly not only does "McCain's Senate record generally [show] strong support for the president's agenda — except for big tax cuts" but that he has increased his support of this president, just as the American people have DECREASED their support of this president. Clearly this shows that McCain is distant from the American people and has made more mistakes as President Bush has. Supporting a unpopular President is not a way to get elected to be the very next President of the United States of America.

McCain is not different from Mr. Bush and the American people (and the American media) need to wake up and really pay attention. There is the points to which McCain is different, but he is not only from the same party as the unpopular president we have now, but McCain also overwhelming supports Bush.
