The Michigan Civil Rights Commission works for equality in Michigan. But the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative works to reverse the goals of equality and the MCRI wants to ban affirmative action. Michigan must not let this happen. Support the MCRC NOT the MCRI.
In recent weeks a voter fraud allegation has surfaced. The following is from a WZZM 13 Grand Rapids article:
"The Michigan Civil Rights Commission will host a public hearing Monday night on allegations of voter fraud.
A group called the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative is working to make affirmative action style programs unconstitutional in Michigan.
...
They claim people gathering signatures for the ballot proposal outright lied about what it was for.
...
The proposal, which will appear on Michigan's November ballot, would amend the state constitution, ending affirmative action in state government and public schools."
Luke Massie, of By Any Means Necessary (BAMN) said that most "African Americans who signed the petition were told it was FOR, not AGAINST affirmative action."
The way that this proposal has gone on is long enough. Michigan voters must come out and vote against this damaging proposal. Vote against the MCRI and support equality.
