Recess appointment for Bolton
John Bolton; Nominated by President Bush for the US Ambassador to the UN. But Democrats have stalled his nod in the senate, demanding some documents are released about him. So far, the Republicans have not been able to get enough support for a floor vote and the Democrats continue to stall the nod in committee. Now as the month long recess for congress come near, the prospect for Bolton to get appointed is becoming greater. The President has the power to appoint a person to a position during a Senate recess. If Bush appointed Bolton as the UN Ambassador during this recess, he would than serve to January 2007. This would temporarily bypass the Senate confirmation process so as such, Bolton would serve for a little over one year.
