Quoting CNN, "Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II, the president drew comparisons between that 20th-century conflict and current wars on terror and in Iraq." But is this right?!?! The recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been very different than WWII. In WWII the United States was Allied with many other countries and had much international support. Also in WWII, the US shared the burden of war with other countries and only freed occupied countries and DID NOT take a preemptive strike against a country that DID NOT have any weapons which was the only reason for going to war. The war in Iraq was. We took preemptive actions in Iraq on the basis of WMD, which did not exist. In WWII, the threats were shown and NOT just based on one human source, which curve-ball was for the Iraq war.
