Kelo v. New London

The city of New London is now set to collect back rent on houses that it declared eminent domain on. During the legal battle over the past 5 years, 7 persons stayed in there houses after the city, citing eminent domain, condemned their homes, told them to move and began leveling surrounding houses. But now the persons after a 5-4 Supreme Court ruling will have to move out and get the price for the house as of 2000 (when the legal battle started), and not of today which the total is much higher. And now the city wants to collect hundreads of thousands of dollars from the homeowners of the back rent the city says they owe.
