More Headlines In The Battle Over Same-Sex Marriage

A constitutional amendment, that would have made same-sex marriages illegal in the only state that currently allows them, was defeated Wednesday with a vote of 157 nay and 39 yea. This same amendment was passed last year in a vote of 105-92. But to take effect and go to voters, it needed to be passed in two consecutive sessions. But as this did not happen, the process will most likely still be on the table for both pro and anti same-sex marriage. According to CNN, over 6,100 same-sex couples have married in Massachusetts.
