According to WFMY News 3, a law making it illegal for a person to sit on a park bench in a New York City parks without a child has taken effect...and it has taken its first victim. The parks department said the rule is designed to keep pedophiles out of city parks, but Sandra Catena, 47, waiting for a art festival to start sat on the park bench and was then ticketed by two NYC police officers when she said that she was not with a child. The ticket carries a fine of up to $1000 and up to 90 days in jail. This is an outragious law and needs to be re-examined.
