According to a FOX News poll released yesterday, "36 percent of Americans approve and 53 percent disapprove of the job Bush is doing as president."
President Bush's numbers continue to fall and he is becoming a liability to Republicans. Bush has always pushed his Republican agenda, just as every other President has, but only 36% of people approve of how he is doing that. With the mid-term elections less than a year away now, many Republican incumbents, and challengers alike, might find that being a Bush Republican might hurt them more than it will help them. Most Senate and House elections cannot be won with 36% of the vote. Some Republicans that have a hard election coming up, might want to start thinking on a strategy that won't associate them too closely with the White House. They will want to say they are Republican, which they are, but they also might need to start thinking about making a more independent stand and not count on Bush's name to carry them far.
