Taser International Inc., the maker of taser stun guns, has come out with a new feature; Taser Cam. This is a good innovation, but it still won't justify using them in many different circumstances. As the highly public outrage shows, taser guns are not always the way to go. A 6-year-old was stunned by a taser gun when he was cutting himself with a piece of glass. This boy was a special needs student and was SIX YEARS OLD. With at least two police officers and the principle in the room, it is hard to believe that they could have not taken control of the situation without the use of the stun gun. This new innovation will help, but stun guns should still be put under more scrutiny and more repercussions should happen when they are unnecessarily used. Clear guidelines must be created for when it is appropriate to use a stun gun.

I got shot with a Taser once for an article I was writing--I posted it on my blog just now. I know that in our county, cops have to take a hit from a Taser themselves before carrying one, so that they can testifiy in court they know what they're dishing out. The new Tazers, too are supposed to less painful than the old ones for different reasons.
It wasn't too bad, really. Not that I'd do it again.
