In a Washington Post Article released today, Sen. John McCain said that he would not compromise with the White House on the words in his amendment that would put into law the banning of cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment of detainees. Senator McCain made the comments on NBC's Meet the Press.
Finally, someone is willing to stand up to the use of torture. The Veep has continued to push against the will of many voices in this government and other countries on the use of torture. Now many European countries are pushing even harder against the US on the issue of torture after the news broke about prisons located in EU countries and rendition cases which might include EU countries.
The White House is only digging its own grave with the American people and the international community on many issues. The White House is making fights on too many issues. Soon all of the fighting will catch up to this government, and the outcome is anything but predictable.
