Spy On The Spy's

Reported by the Post Gazette, "About a dozen people -- some dressed in trench coats and dark glasses, some carrying homemade binoculars and even a telescope -- stood in front of the building for what they called a 'spy-in'.

It was organized by the Thomas Merton Center Anti-War Committee and Pittsburgh Bill of Rights Defense Campaign to bring awareness to recent instances of what they call government spying on local peace groups."

That’s the spirit. If you can beat 'em, throw it back into their faces. This could become the next minutemen project.

All fun aside, the issue is a pressing one. When it was reported that the government had spied on and kept records on anti-war protest groups, under the guise of terrorism, it raised many questions about what the government was really doing.

The government must use the spying efforts in the right places. And spying on dissent IN AMERICA is not the right use of American taxpayer’s dollars. The government must not attack Americans that are voicing their opinion unless it threatens the US. And a peaceful protest does NOT pose a grave danger to America in the age of terrorism. The government must get their priorities straight.
