President Bush has solely constructed his two terms on terrorism and national security. But according to a Gallup Poll (March 13-16, 2006), the poll ranks the top worry of Americans as "the availability and affordability of health care". The second highest was "the Social Security system". "The possibility of future terrorist attacks in the U.S.", ranked 6th in the poll.
Also in a NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll (Jan. 26-29, 2006), it ranks the “War in Iraq”, at 21%, the highest priority for the USFG and “job creation and economic growth” at 19%; clearly within the 3.1% margin of error.
Both of these polls combined show that people believe that there is MORE than just one priority that the United States must be addressing. But the Bush Administration is just addressing the issue of terrorism. And if we are winning the war as Bush wants us to believe, he also should be able to address other issues that top Americans lives. We must, as a country, help the people in America with all the problems facing them; not just one single issue.
