The Army Is At It Again

Last year, Army recruiters were caught (on camera) lying to perspective recruits about the realities of the Army. The Army suspended recruiting across the nation in an attempt to re-train recruiters about practices and "improprieties". But ABC News is reporting that, after they conducted an undercover operation on Army recruiters, "Army recruiters [are] telling students that the war in Iraq was over, in an effort to get them to enlist". That same ABC News article went on to say that one recruiter said that "We're not at war. War ended a long time ago", with anther recruiter saying "No, we're bringing people back" when asked "Nobody is going over to Iraq anymore?" Other recruiters were caught saying that there is little chance that the perspective recruit would go to Iraq and another recruiter offering to help a perspective recruit cheat to get into the military when the student posed as a drug-addict. Change didn't happen last year and I guess we cannot expect any change soon. It is sad that the US military, a representation of America world wide, is reduced to lying and cheating to reach recruiting goals.
