Bush Makes His Nod
George W. Bush has just made the nomination of Judge John Roberts for the Supreme Court. Roberts is currently a court of appeals judge for the DC circuit. He was confirmed for that position in 2003. He is a consertitive and many of his own views are not known, as he has been a judge for only 2 years and the rest of his life has been a lawyer. The senate is sure to ask him many questions about his own beliefs and many of them he will most likely refuse to answer. But Judge Roberts does have bi-partisan support in his previous confirmation. This is not the perfect choice, if that is ever possible, but it is better than many choices that Bush could have made. Now it is up to the senate on if he will be confirmed in time for the Oct. session of the Supreme Court.
