Filibuster Is Unlikely

From the current poll numbers, Roberts is in somewhat of a mix. A CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll taken Wednesday reported that 51% of people rated Roberts as an excellent or good choice; 20 percent said the choice was "only fair" and one in seven said it was a poor choice.

  • Also the group of 14 Senators that ruled when a filibuster is going to happen, said that Judge Roberts was not "extraordinary". This means that currently standing, there will be a vote on Roberts and not a Democratic filibuster. This almost totally grants that Roberts will be confirmed, unless some Republicans cross over and vote against him. This will speed up the process for which he will get on the bench, and fill the vancancy currently that is in the court.
