Tom DeLay
According to CNN, "[Rep. Tom] DeLay faces a single conspiracy count stemming from a long-running campaign finance investigation." The article also quotes DeLay as saying, "I have done nothing wrong. I have violated no law, no regulation, no rule of the House." But as this news comes out Tom DeLay was forced to step down as House Majority Leader of the Republican Party. The person who will fill the role of Majority Leader has been said it will be Rep. David Dreier. The charge is that Tom DeLay and two others have gotten $190,000 corporate contributions that were funneled improperly into there campaigns. This has been being talked about for months and almost totally dropped by the news media, now it is front page news and has officially taken a new level in this investigation.
