BREAKING NEWS: George Washington Tapped Phones!

According to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, wiretapping should be legal because "President Washington, President Lincoln, President Wilson, President Roosevelt have all authorized electronic surveillance on a far broader scale."

He said these remarks at a Senate committee meeting, and as he was not under oath and thus even if he says that President Washington had the possibility of tapping non-existent telephones, he is not held to tell the truth. I believe that this is beyond just a misspeak and trying to evoke the revolutionary sprit that Washington embodied. This wiretapping must get a warrant. The warrant can even be received AFTER the actual tap. But without these warrants the taps should not be done. It is illegal and MUST NOT be allowed. President Bush does not have the authority to have the warren less wiretaps and the Congress and Courts systems must stop the President. If President Bush continues to break the law, than impeachment should be considered.
